SINGAPORE: A man was found dead at a construction site at Dover Road on Saturday morning. Civil defence officers received a call at 9.50am that a man was found lying on the floor of a tower crane platform which was some 45 metres above ground. When SCDF firefighters arrived at the scene, they tried to resuscitate the man as he had no pulse and was not breathing.

The man was then lowered to the ground using a rescue stretcher via a rope and pulley system. SCDF paramedics who attended to him on the ground pronounced him dead. An SCDF statement said there was no open wound found on the man. The police are now investigating the case.

Two Comansa Jie flat top tower cranes are working in the city of Wenzhou, in the east of China.

The 450,000 square metre Lucheng Plaza project is being lead by Greentown, one of the country's biggest property developers. It will include residential areas and offices, as well as a shopping and leisure centre, plus a Gran Hyatt Hotel. The centrepiece will be a 75 storey, 350 m high tower - the tallest building in the Zhejiang province.

The two 10CJ140 flat tops are already working on the two other office towers in the complex, with heights of 120 and 180 m, respectively. The 10CJ140 has a lifting capacity of 8 tonnes and a

A $24 MILLION high-rise development in Kitchener Street promises to transform the Toowoomba city skyline.

F.K. Gardner & Sons’ 10-level residential and office complex has just been approved by the council, allowing construction to start in October.

Development manager Dallas Hunter said the vacant triangular lot, next to the fire station, would feature three levels of offices, 28 units and 164 car parks by Christmas next year.

“It’s the best site for CBD living,” he said. “It’s out of the centre where all the noise is.

“But people are still able to walk to Fibbers and restaurants in Margaret Street. And the outlook is completely superb over the fountain in the park and Mothers Memorial.”

Two levels of office space have already been committed.

There is one four-bedroom unit, six three-bedroom units and 21 two-bedroom units available to buy off the plan.

Residents will have access to a pool and a gym. A cafe will operate on the ground floor, opposite the park.

“It’s our first venture into inner-city living,” Mr Hunter said. “We plan to have a lot of the units sold before the building is completed.

“The sort of people making inquiries are professionals, empty nesters and people who need a base in Toowoomba but spend time away.”

Two 10-level residential towers were originally approved for the site.

But Mr Hunter said the previous developer had difficulty selling the units.

“They were too big and too expensive,” he said.

“We wanted to get it to a size where the units would be in demand.

“Our units have bike facilities, small carparks and air conditioning that meets green regulations.”

A tower crane will be used in the construction of the high-rise which includes three levels of underground parking.
